Sri Vijaya Puram, August 01:
Hundreds of youths preparing for the upcoming police recruitment physical examination faced inconvenience after Netaji Stadium was closed for 15 days in connection with preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.
According to information received, the stadium is usually closed for around five days each year during Independence Day preparations. This year's extended closure affected the regular practice sessions of many police recruitment aspirants who rely on the stadium for their physical training.
Following representations from the affected candidates, Shri TSG Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee of the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), visited Netaji Stadium and interacted with the aspirants to understand their concerns.
He subsequently met Shri Ranjit Kumar, Assistant Director (Sports), and requested that suitable alternative arrangements be made to ensure that the candidates' preparation for the physical examination was not disrupted.
Responding to the request, Shri Ranjit Kumar agreed to provide an alternative practice venue, enabling the aspirants to continue their training during the temporary closure of the stadium.
Shri TSG Bhasker expressed appreciation to the Assistant Director (Sports) for responding promptly to the concerns raised by the candidates.
The alternative arrangement is expected to help police recruitment aspirants continue their physical preparation without interruption until Netaji Stadium reopens after the Independence Day preparations.
