The Our Rights Organization has urged Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to address reported network connectivity problems affecting residents of North and Middle Andaman, particularly Tugapur and adjoining areas.

In a written grievance dated October 24, 2026, Poovarasan, District Secretary of the organisation’s North and Middle Andaman District unit, addressed the issue to the General Manager of BSNL in Sri Vijaya Puram.

According to the letter, residents have reported weak mobile signals and persistent connectivity problems over the past month, with frequent call disconnections and poor voice clarity even after calls connect.

Connectivity Problems Affect Daily Activities

The organisation stated that the reported issues are inconveniencing residents, government officials, business establishments, students, Common Service Centres (CSCs) and other service providers.

It said poor voice quality makes conversations difficult and that repeated disconnections affect the reliability of telephone services.

The letter particularly identifies Tugapur and nearby areas as locations where residents have raised concerns about BSNL network performance.

Organisation Seeks Urgent Technical Inspection

Poovarasan has requested that BSNL direct its concerned officials and technical teams to inspect the affected areas, identify the causes of the reported problems and take corrective measures.

The organisation has called for stable network connectivity and clear, uninterrupted voice calls, urging the company to treat the grievance as a priority in the public interest.

The letter was submitted to BSNL’s General Manager on October 24. The document does not include a response from BSNL or confirm whether an inspection or repair programme has been initiated.
